About Us

Do Good Bus promises altruistic adventurism by bringing people together to help local causes in a fun and social environment. During each mystery event, Do Good Bus strives to create awareness for local causes, create community amongst volunteers and prove the power of working together to make a difference.

On a Do Good Bus Ride, our first goal is awareness. There are hundreds of causes that help our city, our neighbors and our friends and the mission is to show people how to support these causes. Secondly, our team truly believes in the importance of creating a community and what better way to make new friends then to ride together with like-minded folks and have fun while giving back. Lastly, we hope the Do Good Bus experience will inspire passengers to do good again – at work, at home and in their community.

We are based in Los Angeles, CA but have partnerships that allow us to host rides across the US. Reach out and we’ll see if we can host a ride in your city.

Mission

Our Mission is to give individuals an opportunity to get involved together, do GOOD together and learn more about their community. We will accomplish these goals by:

  • Building awareness of local causes and those in need by offering fun and entertaining Community Rides for like-minded folks to work together to make a difference. As a fun twist, the destination is usually a mystery, which helps keep everyone open-minded.
  • Creating a unique community of new friends, teammates, students or employees by harnessing the power of working together, team-building and fun and games.
  • Encouraging riders to make a difference in the future by continuing to support the causes we visit.

Whether it is small disaster relief, homeless issues, helping kids and animals, or improving your neighborhood…we are here to give you access to causes in your community – all you have to do is hop on the bus!

While the name implies we simply “do good”, there is much more the Do Good Bus offers.  Our number one goal on the bus is to ensure everyone has a good experience — from the passenger to the non-profit.  That includes: feeling accomplished, feeling informed about the cause’s mission, keeping energy and spirits high and having an organized and efficient experience. Secondly, our goal is to create new bonds and strengthen existing ones through unique team building with a “do good” twist.  Our experience working with over 100 non-profits across the country has given us expertise in ensuring both the non-profit and the volunteer end their day feeling inspired and connected.  For us, it’s more than doing good…it’s creating community.

Causes

The best way to bring a community together is to help your neighbors.

Literally.

We help local non-profits, indivduals and groups in our community. While The Do Good Bus supports and visits official 501c3 non-profits, our mission is also to help individuals and families in need in our own neighborhoods.

Visit our Facebook page or our Past Rides to see examples of causes we’ve visited in the past.

We are honored to be a 1% for the Planet member.

Why the mystery?

Everyone likes a little mystery, right?

We keep our rides a secret to add an element of fun, but also to avoid any pre-conceived ideas or opinions about the causes we visit. This allows volunteers to show up with an open mind ready to help.

The Beginning

The doGOODers behind this unique idea have been working with organizations like Friends of El Faro and LA Guerilla Gardening for many years. After continually being asked by friends, “How can I get involved?”, the group decided to put all their friends on a bus and show them EXACTLY how to get involved.

In addition to doing GOOD, it was also important the bus offered a sense of community and a little fun.  Inspired by a 30th birthday on a party bus, the Do Good team had found the perfect combination for an unforgettable experience.

Past doGOODers

When we’re not hosting our Community Rides for the public, we partner with companies and groups to take them on Corporate Rides and Hosted Rides throughout their cities. We’ve worked with some pretty amazing groups and celebrated a lot of birthdays on the bus! You can also read what people have to say on our testimonials page.

You can also see blog posts about some of our favorite past rides.
